Description
You can enjoy a lovely walk in the nature reserve around the De IJzeren Man lake. The nature here consists alternately of dry forests, heathlands, drifting sand areas and natural fens and ponds. In addition to beautiful nature, you will find recreational facilities in this area such as a natural pool, a playground and an insect garden. You will definitely have a fun day out here.
The Iron Man
The walking route is located a little outside the city of Weert. A quiet piece of nature just far enough away from the busy city. About half the route you can take a break at a picnic area. Bring tasty snacks and drinks and fill one of the picnic tables with all those goodies. Then it's time to enjoy yourself. Then you continue walking past De IJzeren Man to De IJzeren Man Nature and Environmental Center.

De Sluis is the start and end point of this route. Make time for a Limburg break with a cup of coffee and a piece of pie on the terrace or in the cozy winter garden.
