The Geleenbeekdal is a green pearl between various cities and villages in South Limburg. Walk along grasslands, hillside forests, orchards and the pools that lie along the Geleenbeek and discover the natural habitat of the corn wolf. This route takes you through the stream valley in the vicinity of Sweikhuizen.

A typical Limburg landscape
During your walk you will pass forests, steep edges, fields and grasslands and you will climb and descend over sunken roads. A typical Limburg landscape. At the beginning of the route you will pass the St. Jansmolen and a little further on the route you will see Castle Terborgh. This castle is a closed farm from the 17th century.

On this route you walk a bit through the town of Sweikhuizen, which is located on a steep hill. This hill is part of the Doenrade Plateau. The village is a place of pilgrimage for the blind and visually impaired and in the past cycling races were regularly held on and near the steep slope in Sweikhuizen.
