Frisian churches
You'll drive along car-free roads through the Frisian Woods. This region is characterized by a small-scale bocage landscape of beautiful forests, hedgerows, heathlands, grasslands, and meandering streams. You won't find any terps here, but you will find many characteristic farmhouses and historic buildings. And, of course, beautiful centuries-old churches, such as in Eastermar and Twijzel.

Kollumer Cheese
The village green of Veenklooster is a protected village view. Here you'll see It Lytse Slot (It Lytse Slot), dating from 1870. And Fogelsangh State, a stins (a former castle) dating from 1646, which you can visit. You'll also pass through Kollum, where you can still experience the atmosphere of times gone by, thanks in part to the beautiful fifteenth-century St. Martin's Church. This village is also known for its raw-milk Kollumer Cheese. Gerkesklooster boasts the striking Reformed Church. This fifteenth-century building was originally a monastery brewery but was converted into a church in 1629.
