De Hoop flour mill was built in 1801 in Hellevoetsluis as a replacement for an earlier mill on the dry dock. From 1963 to 1967 the mill was renovated on a large scale, so that the mill remained operational.

The Rockanje corn mill was built in 1718 as a successor to a post mill. The mill stood still for a while, but in 2009 the mill was restored to working order.

In 1821, permission was given by the King to continue with the construction of the stone flour mill. At the end of the 1960s the mill was no longer running, but after a major restoration in 2004, the mill was ready to run again.

In 1572 Brielle was taken by the Beggars. In the 17th century, the city walls with the mill were demolished. The so-called Molenbolwerk was placed on the east side, which was later replaced by a tower mill. The mill burned down in 1810 and it was not until 1973 that a major restoration took place.
