Description

Cycling along the Waal is wonderful. You will enjoy a peaceful landscape full of meadows and grazing cows. You will pass the Duffelt, a corn mill from 1868. Stop at the farm shop De Hazelaarshof! Then you cycle via Millingen aan de Rijn into a low-lying area with a number of farms on high mounds. This area is called the Duffelt and extends over the German border. You will experience a refreshing silence here. In the forests on the Duivelsberg you will pass M29: Motteburcht Mergelp, a former motte castle. From Beek you cycle a bit into the vast Ooijpolder. Stop to view the Kerkje van Persingen, a beautiful building that dates back to the Middle Ages. Through the Groenlanden you cycle back to Restaurant De Thornsche Molen.
