The green floodplains of the IJssel

Tower city Zutphen
The starting point of this route is in Gorssel at Museum MORE. From here you cycle along the IJssel in the direction of Eefde. On the way you will pass the Geertruida Cornelia mill from 1893. At Eefde you cycle via a bridge over the water to Zutphen. This Hanseatic city is also sometimes called a'Tower City\\\', because of the many historical buildings with a tower that can be found here. There are few modern high-rise buildings in the center of Zutphen, which is why the historical spires form the skyline. On this cycle route you cycle along the edge of Zutphen, but it is also nice to take a look at the center of the city.

Then you cycle further to Voorst to continue from there in the direction of Twello. At the recreational lake Het Bussloo you turn right to cycle back to Gorssel. Recreational lake Het Bussloo was created by sand excavations for the A1 motorway. The lake has a surface area of no less than 100 hectares and is a true paradise for water lovers. You can of course swim in the lake, but also surf, canoe, pedal boat and dive. Beaches with playgrounds for children have been created on the edge of the lake and there is a golf course near the lake. Enough opportunities to enjoy yourself endlessly.
