Your cycling route starts at the quirky monastery hotel de Soete Moeder in 's-Hertogenbosch. 's-Hertogenbosch, an episcopal see and former garrison town, is one of the oldest towns in the Netherlands. From the city center you cycle to Maaskantje. Here you pass De Pelikaan, a round stone flour mill from 1864. Groot Ruwenberg Castle is located on a former meander of the Dommel river. The part of the castle that still exists is the sixteenth-century eight-sided tower with spire. A little further on you will discover the Haanwijk Estate and the Bossche Broek, a special nature reserve on the edge of the city. Here you have a beautiful view of the historic skyline. Back in's-Hertogenbosch you cycle along the Parade, where the famous St. John's Cathedral forms the backdrop.
