The extensive forests in the vicinity of Ommen

Your route starts at Hotel-Café-Restaurant-Snackbar Beerzeveld. The Vechtdal consists of beautiful green nature reserves through which the Vecht flows straight. During this route you cycle through the extensive forests around Ommen. Along the way you will visit various towns such as Den Ham and Vroomshoop and you will cross the Vecht no less than twice. You pass close to the Junner Koeland, an area of 100 hectares where approximately 60 cows live. Be sure to get off here! The grazing by the cows is not sufficient here and that is why about 15 Icelandic horses can be found regularly. A beautiful scene to see. A little further on you will find a manually operated ferry at Rheeze, nice! Rheeze and Ommen are nice places if you want to break the route for a while.
