Description

South of Venray you can take a bike ride through De Peel. From Evertsoord you drive first to Helenaveen. This authentic village is one of the two peat colonies in the south of the Netherlands and enjoys a protected village view. You then cycle between the Mariapeel (on the right, located in Limburg) and the Deurnsche Peel (which is located in Brabant). You pass through Griendtsveen, that other Brabant peat colony. You will also experience plenty of mining history here. You drive through a mix of meadows, fields and small-scale nature reserves in the direction of Venray. At Pannenkoekenhuis De Perdstal you can enjoy a delicious meal before you jump back on the saddle. You pass through nature reserve Breehei, the Schadijkse Bossen and through America. The route ends again in Evertsoord, a mining village that was only founded around 1938.
