A nice walk through Eibergen

This short route introduces you to Eibergen and the surrounding nature. In the Grotestraat you will soon pass the Nieuwe Mattheüskerk from 1935, on the left you will see two monumental villas next to each other. Then you walk through park De Maat. You cross the Berkel, a river that originates in Germany and flows into the IJssel in Zutphen. In the countryside you walk on quiet roads past farms and meadows. From junction L51 you walk along an old branch of the Berkel. You cross the rippling water again, and further on you walk past Villa Smits, the former town hall from 1904. You will also pass the Oude Mattheüskerk, the building dates from 1500. At Grand Café De Klok Patisserie you can enjoy a drink and a tasty snack.
