Fort Nigtevecht is an excellent location to start your cycling and walking tour. In this historic place you can enjoy a meal and coffee with cake, after which you set out through the beautiful region between Amsterdam and Utrecht. Here you will find plenty of cultural history, beautiful landscapes and a remarkable amount of peace and quiet. Fort near Nigtevecht has also been serving as a memorial site for some time now. Relatives have various options here to give the urn with the ashes of a deceased loved one a beautiful place in a green, quiet environment.

In Fort C, also known as the Muizenfort, the Visitor Center Vesting Muiden will be established as of April 1, this includes an unmanned tourist office with brochures and a digital touch screen with all tourist information from the region. There is also a museum about both the Defense Line of Amsterdam and the New Dutch Waterline. A beautiful film is shown on three wide screens with the story of both lines. There are information panels and a DIY furniture with information about Fort C. An escape room will also open in the fort in the autumn.
