This route encloses the sailing area of the former milkman Ruurd Wiersma from Burdaard
In the years 1950-1964, Ruurd Wiersma brought milk from the surrounding farmers to the dairy that still existed at the time, Rinsumageest, Bartlehiem and finally Gytsjerk. Via the Dokkumer Ee, Oudkerkervaart and the (Wiide) Murk he sailed up and down twice a day, 7 days a week.
But Ruurd owes his fame to his naive paintings of his former living room and the many paintings.
