The route starts in the Gelderland village of Hengelo at Restaurant Eetcafe Jansen & Jansen. On the Steintjesweide you will see the monumental Bleekhuisje from 1750. Via De Kieftskamp you cycle to De Zellerij Eten & Drinken for a snack or a drink. You will also pass through the Kruisbergse Bossen, a nature reserve located on 10,000-year-old river dunes. You also drive through the Hoenderkamp Estate, where forests, fields and meadows alternate. Here you will experience the typical tranquility that still prevails in the Achterhoek. On the edge of the Kruisbergse Bossen you come to the Kruisbergseweg along L71, a location from the Liberation Route. Here you will learn more about the bombing of Doetinchem that took place in March 1945. A little further on you pass the Wittebrinkse Molen, a flour mill from 1889.
