Cycling around Valkenswaard

North Brabant can rightfully call itself a wooded province. With this beautiful route around Valkenswaard you drive through quiet forests, vast heaths and past old water mills. From Borkel you are the first to cycle through the Malpie, a nature reserve rich in heathland. There are also many ponds here. Some were created as a fish pond, others originated in the stream valley of the Dommel. You pass the ancient Venbergse Molen, after which you enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility in the Leenderbos, on Landgoed Valkenhorst and in the Groote Heide. In Loon you will pass a few long-gabled farms, in Waalre you can get off for a snack and drink at Brasserie Meester Keeman. On the Dommel you pass the Volmolen, after which you drive back to Borkel through villages such as Riethoven and Westerhoven.
