Cycling through the beautiful Berkelland

The largest town on your route is Borculo. Prince William V of Orange-Nassau purchased the manor of Borculo in 1777. That is why King Willem-Alexander still carries the title 'Lord of Borculo'. Just below the village of Neede you pass Huize de Kamp, the current building dates from 1636. The route also takes you through the village of Haarlo, where the octagonal monumental church is called De Kluntjespot (sugar bowl) by the residents. The Wolink is a typical Achterhoek camp landscape with an old farm as its epicenter. Take a look at the Reformed Church in Geesteren, which originally dates from the eleventh century!
