Cycling through the woods near Veghel

From Veghel you can take a beautiful route full of natural beauty. First you drive to Wijboschbroek. Time has stood still a bit in this humid nature reserve. Here you can still see the poplar landscape that was so characteristic of Veghel and the surrounding area from the eighteenth to the twentieth century. The wood from the poplars was used for the clog industry. You cross the Zuid-Willemsvaart, after which you can take a look at Heeswijk Castle. The former moated castle originally dates from the eleventh century and is still a feast for the eyes! Further on you drive through the Heeswijkse Bossen and some characteristic hamlets, after which the route takes you past the Kilsdonkse Mill from 1842.
