Egmond aan Zee
On the beach your walking pace may be a bit slower, but that gives you every opportunity to enjoy the surf and the view over the sea. And when the weather is nice, take a dip. Don't forget to look the other way, because the boulevard still has beautiful houses from the early twentieth century, as befits a seaside resort.

North Holland Dune Reserve
Below Egmond aan Zee you enter the North Holland Dune Reserve. This nature reserve consists of an alternation of dune tops, bushes and an unprecedented silence. Museum Prince Hendrik the Navigator
The route takes you past an impressive white building on the Voorstraat. This is the former home for former sailors and their partners. Today, this monumental building houses senior citizens' homes, but also the maritime museum, which is named after Prince Hendrik the Navigator, brother of King William III. In 1874, the prince laid the symbolic foundation stone of the house. Showpieces of the museum are the ship models, maritime paintings, antiquities and other curiosities. The stained glass window in the hall of the care center is also a real eye-catcher: it depicts the life of the sailor from the cradle to the grave.
