The Achterhoek region is a wonderful place to cycle, almost unnoticed as you enter Germany. A beautiful route through greenery and past some charming villages and estates. The German border region is well worth exploring! In Aalten, you'll cycle through the picturesque old village center. You'll see beautiful monuments here, such as the 12th-century Oude Helenakerk (Old Helena Church). Then it's time to explore the authentic book town of Bredevoort. Next, you'll cross the border and enter Germany. In this sparsely populated border region, you'll cycle through a diverse landscape of streams, vast meadows, and small forests. Enjoy nature in peace and quiet! You'll return via the border village of Dinxperlo. Here you'll find the magnificent Sint-Liboriuskerk (St. Liborius Church), whose tower dates back to 1400.
