A wine route through the Land of Namur

This route takes you through the Land of Namur, a rural region full of atmospheric villages, natural beauty and vineyards.

Charm on the Maas
You cycle along the banks of the Maas for a large part of the route. On both sides of this winding river you will see stately houses and castles. It is wonderful to cycle along the rippling water while the green hills glide past you. Sometimes the river crosses a tranquil nature reserve and you pass a real cliff. Just below Namur you cycle along the beautiful park of La Plante. You will also pass the only water gardens in Belgium: the eighteenth-century Gardens of Annevoie.

Surprising Names
The Land of Namur consists of the municipalities of Andenne, Assesse, Fernelmont, Fosses-la-Ville, La Bruyère, Mettet, Namur and Profondeville. You will pass through beautiful towns and past several vineyards where you can stop for a tasting. If you divide the trip over a few days, you have plenty of time to enjoy the rich cultural history and cozy restaurants along the way. There are plenty of accommodation options on your route to enjoy this area. The route starts and ends in Namur, the beautiful capital of Wallonia.

Vineyards in the Land of Namur
In the Land of Namur there are several vineyards where delicious and special wines are made. Taste it yourself, because while cycling you will pass the following vineyards and olive groves: Clos du Neuf Moulin, Domaine Viticole du Chenoy, Domaine Vinicole du Ry D\\\'Argent, La Noiseraie, Vignoble Saint-Héribert, Clos de Brogne, Château de Bioul, Château Bon Baron and Vignoble Clos de Vigneroule. Feel free to take a bottle home with you after your visit. Or for a picnic on the way.
