From Buren to Culemborg

From Buren you immediately enter the Betuwe. You soon cycle through the Regulieren, a nature reserve where you see flowery grasslands and hayfields, poplar forests and willow groves. Further on you come through Culemborg. In this town you can enjoy a historical atmosphere thanks to the many well-preserved old buildings. You pass, among other things, the Town Hall from 1539 and the medieval Lanxmeerpoort. Then you cycle over the Beusichemsedijk along the floodplains that lie on the Lek. You pass a boundary post here: a former border marker between the county of Culemborg and Buren. In Ravenswaaij you pass several old farms and the Reformed Church from 1644. Along the orchards you cycle back to Oranjestad Buren. Here you can have a nice drink on a terrace at De Pannekoekenbakker Buren.
