Cycling along the Maas and through Roermond

It is beautiful to cycle along the Maas around Roermond. At junction 61 you have a beautiful view of the Swalmdal. Further on you drive past the Maasplassen, the largest contiguous water sports area in the Netherlands. In Asselt you pass the St. Dionysius Church, which is built on a characteristic church hill. Then you drive into Roermond with its beautiful historic city center. Step off to enjoy all those beautiful buildings. You drive along the Maasplassen to Heel, a charming village where you see Nederhoven Castle. The route leads you through two green gems: the Beegderheide and the Leudal. The Leumolen is one of the many photogenic stops during this ride. Via Neer you drive to Kessel, where you cross the Maas with a ferry. The route ends at Mert 5 in Beesel.
