Tour of the Gelderse Vallei from Voorthuizen

Your route starts at Lounge 3. It is wonderfully quiet cycling in the Gelderse Vallei. In this flat landscape you have endless views. Historic buildings give you a glimpse of Gelderland's rich past. Just past Barneveld you cycle through the area of Kallenbroek. Time seems to have stood still here. You cycle through an old farm landscape with grasslands, fields, streams and forests. The oak-lined Kallenbroekerweg itself is also beautiful. This picturesque area is called Paradise by the locals. At Terschuur you will pass Den Olden Florus, one of the oldest existing post mills in the Netherlands. The exact year of construction is not known, but the first mention dates from 1403. The flour mill is still active, nice to take a look!
