Tour of Westerbork, Aalden and Zweeloo

Your route starts at Hotel Het Witte Veen. From the saddle you then have a beautiful view over the undulating heathland of nature reserve Het Scharreveld. Westerbork is known for the National Monument Camp Westerbork, but the village itself is also worth a visit. Take a break in the beautiful Orvelte, a car-free brink village. It is one of the most beautiful villages in the Netherlands. In this open-air museum you have all the time to get to know the history of Drenthe. You cycle through Zweeloo, among other things, which at the end of the nineteenth century served as a source of inspiration for artists such as Vincent van Gogh. A little further on you cycle through Oud-Aalden, an old esdorp that consists entirely of beautiful Saxon farms. You cycle back through the forest area De Mepperdennen.
