This water-rich walking route starts at Fort Uitmeer, a fortress that is part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam. In 1589 an entrenchment was already built here, which was strengthened into a fortress in later centuries. You walk into the polder, in a number of places you pass former bunkers from the Second World War. You will also pass the Hollandia, a polder mill that dates from 1640. In Ankeveen you can see the eighteenth-century Rechthuis and Tolhuis at the Stichts End. At Restaurant 1244 you can enjoy a nice lunch on the cozy terrace, after which the route leads you over a former church path through the Ankeveense Plassen. At junction 88 you will arrive at De Googh, an old hamlet. Finally, you walk along the Stichtse Vecht back to the starting point.
