Right at the start of the route, you can admire the Owl Tower: a striking folly from 1904, perched on the highest point of the Lombok Hill (34 meters). You can climb the tower. The majestic Amerongen Castle is the most beautiful Dutch castle from the Golden Age, thanks to the original state of the house, gardens, and collection. You continue cycling through the Amerongse Bovenpolder. Further on, you can take a break at Ferry Good Food and Drinks, beautifully situated on the water. Museum Huis Doorn is not only a beautiful castle, it also has a remarkable history. After the First World War, German Emperor Wilhelm II fled to the Netherlands. He lived in Huis Doorn from 1920 until his death in 1941. You cycle back via Austerlitz.
