Soon you will pass the former fishing village of Spakenburg. This village used to be located on the Zuiderzee. The houses in Spakenburg were built high against the dike as protection against regular flooding. After crossing by ferry, you will see rich and varied vegetation in the Hulkesteinse Bos. Oldenaller is an estate between Nijkerk and Putten. The former castle that stood here was built in the 15th century, but now you will find a country house from the 17th century. The polder between Nijkerk and Putten is one of the twenty National Landscapes in the Netherlands. In this open farmland you cycle past meadows, arable land and the water of the Nuldernauw, but you will also take in the beautiful historic village of Nijkerk.
