Tour of Country Houses in Spaarnwoude Park

Today you will discover the versatility of Spaarnwoude Park. You will walk over a reclaimed part of the IJ through the recreation polder Buitenhuizen. Here you will see an old high-stem orchard, forests and a historic pumping station. Take a break at the Zorgvrij information farm, the information centre of the Spaarnwoude recreation area. There is a pancake restaurant and regional shop, but you can also pet cows, tap milk and make cheese. Wonderful to get a taste of the atmosphere! On a beautiful summer day, the Peddelpoel in Oosterbroek is a nice place to swim. The pond is beautifully enclosed in a bowl, bordered by trees and shrubs. You walk back via Zijkanaal-B, where you can often see canoes. A little later you will come across many larger ships on the IJ!
