Want to combine a day in the city and nature? Then cycle this beautiful route through old Haarlem and the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park. The Landje van Gruijters is a bird-rich lake on the west side of the old village of Spaarndam. Haarlem is a charming city with almost 1200 national monuments. How nice it is to cycle along the canals here. At the Grote Markt you can fully enjoy the historical atmosphere thanks to the town hall, the meat hall and the Sint-Bavo church. Then you cycle into the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park, one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Netherlands. You can enjoy various dune and forest areas and old estates. In Bloemendaal aan Zee you can go to the beach. The Beeckestijn estate dates from the 15th century and used to be a fortified country house.
