Tour of Needse Achterveld and Buurserbeek

Your route starts at Camping de Blanken. Nearby you can walk along the beautiful Buurserbeek, which forms the border between Overijssel and Gelderland. The Needse Achterveld is a beautiful nature reserve near Neede. It is unique, because it is one of the last pieces of wet heathland in the Netherlands. Among other things, heather and pipe straw grow there, on the higher grounds you will find old juniper bushes. You can relax on a trip through this quiet nature reserve. In the spring the wild bog myrtle blooms here (April and May), which can be recognized by its orange colour. When you smell it you immediately notice the lemony soap scent. In the past, wild gale was often used to give a nice scent to a box bed. You walk back via the Buurserbeek.
