Tour of Lunteren and Celtic Fields

The Werk aan de Daatselaar is a defensive work of the Grebbe Line. On the other side of Lunteren, you will discover a historical area: at the Vijfsprong, which you cycle past, you will see reconstructions of so-called Celtic fields: centuries-old small fields measuring 40 by 40 meters. You will also find a reconstructed farm and storehouse from the Iron Age there. A viewing platform offers a beautiful view of the entire complex. You cycle straight through the Luntersche Buurtbosch. This forest was laid out around 1890 thanks to the legacy of notary Van den Ham. You cycle back via Buurtschap Manen, beautifully drawn in 1783 by Wybrand Hendriks. In the past, hamlets were not governed by a local representative of the landlord, but by the 'neighbors' themselves.
