Cycling through the green belt around Hilversum

From Ankeveen you will cycle through the nature reserves around Hilversum. First you will cycle past several 's-Graveland estates, after which you will cycle onto the Hoorneboegse Heide. This nature reserve is home to old ridge fields and around 20 burial mounds, which is why it is considered an archaeological monument. Around junction 83 you will cycle through Nature Reserve De Zuid. Until the Second World War there was still an extensive heathland here, after which large pine forests were planted. It is wonderfully quiet cycling here, ideal for a day of relaxation. Further on you will cycle through the Zuiderheide and Westerheide, after which you will cycle over the Zanderij Crailoo Nature Bridge. With a length of 800 metres and a width of 50 metres, this is the largest ecoduct in the world. You will cycle back to Ankeveen through the Spanderswoud. Time for a delicious meal at Restaurant 1244.
