A circuit along the border

You immediately cycle across the Gorp and Roovert estate, a mosaic of deciduous and coniferous forests, fields, and grasslands. You follow the beautifully meandering Rovertse Leij through the forest southward, into Belgium. Further on, you pass through the Belgian village of Poppel, a charming village where you can admire the striking town hall. Then you follow the border northward, through beautiful countryside. You then cycle across the Nieuwkerk estate, home to several charming farms and a beautiful monastery nestled in the forest. Nieuwkerk is located partly in the Netherlands and partly in Belgium. The hamlet owes its name to the border church built here in 1652. Catholics from Tilburg could come here to practice their faith.
