Your route starts at Het Polderhuis, museums & more. From Het Polderhuis you first walk along the creek, a remnant of the bombing of the dike in 1944. Then you cross the road and walk through the Westkappelse forest to the hamlet of Boudewijnskerke. Here you see a vliedberg, locally called'the mountain of Buis\\\'. These man-made refuges several meters high were created as a safe haven for when the sea claimed back the land. A nice walking path runs along field edges, this is the Buiskerk church path. You will find more information about this on site. Then you walk back towards the sea. After a nice dune walk you will soon see Westkapelle again. Coffee with an apple round at Het Polderhuis tastes delicious after such a long walk!

The Polderhuis, museums & more is a super nice place to sit on a terrace and soak up cultural history. In the museum cafe and on the cozy terrace you can enjoy a coffee with something delicious at your leisure. On the terrace you have a view of the seawall and the Liberty Bridge that runs to the Sherman tank on the dike. In the museum, the history of Walcheren and Westkapelle comes to life in a beautiful way. The two lighthouses in Westkapelle are also part of the museum, you can visit them at regular intervals.
