A figure eight through the Hoge and Lage Bergse Bos

Your route starts at Boerderij Het Lansingerland. North of Rotterdam and Capelle aan den IJssel you will find a small-scale green area full of water and natural beauty. Go out and enjoy the peace and space that can be found here, just a stone's throw from the busy city. Through the Hoge Bergse Bos you reach the Rotte, the peat river to which Rotterdam owes its name. Cycling along this meandering river is wonderfully peaceful. The Rottemeren are located slightly higher than the surrounding, settled polders: a special view. After a stop at your starting point, you walk through the Lage Bergse Bos. The landscape here consists alternately of ponds, forests and open areas. Part of the area is grazed by Scottish Highlanders.
