Your route starts at De Rimboe & de Woeste Hoogte Hoenderloo. Via the pleasant village of Hoenderloo, at the eastern entrance of De Hoge Veluwe National Park, you cycle to Radio Kootwijk. This broadcasting station was built in the 1920s for telegraphic contact with the then Dutch East Indies. The area around the former transmitter and the associated hamlet is considered a protected village scene because of its cultural-historical value. War memorial Radio Kootwijk recalls the time when the Germans occupied the radio station during World War II. The Kootwijkerzand is the largest active sand drift in Western Europe. At bicycle junction 41 you will find Hoog Buurlo, where there have traditionally been a few houses and two sheepfolds. Via Boswachterij Ugchelen-Hoederloo you drive back to your starting point, straight through the woods.
