Tour of Postel Abbey and the Peelsche Heide

Your route starts at Hotel Restaurant Steensel, one of the Eight Beatitudes. A large part of the route takes you through Boswachterij De Kempen, near the border with Belgium. Civilization seems far away here. The route leads you through endless forests dominated by conifers. Postel seems like a small spot on the map, but people come from far and wide because of the medieval Premonstratensian abbey. The brotherly community of about 20 Premonstratensians is still very open and geared towards guests. Highly recommended is the abbey shop where homemade products are sold: Postelse abbey cheeses, abbey beer, bread, milk and butter. You cycle straight through nature to De Grote Cirkel on the Peelsche Heide near Reusel, a useful landmark for pilots in the Second World War.
