The Western Cape can be found at the westernmost point of the beautiful island of Walcheren, on the impressive Westkappelse Zeedijk. The North Sea is only a few meters away. A violent storm, passing sea ships, a beautiful sunset on the endless horizon, the view is always beautiful here."Relax man...\\\" is a common cry in the African Western Cape, but also applicable here! A great base on Walcheren.

The Polderhuis, museums & more is a super nice place to sit on a terrace and soak up cultural history. In the museum cafe and on the cozy terrace you can enjoy a coffee with something delicious at your leisure. On the terrace you have a view of the seawall and the Liberty Bridge that runs to the Sherman tank on the dike. In the museum, the history of Walcheren and Westkapelle comes to life in a beautiful way. The two lighthouses in Westkapelle are also part of the museum, you can visit them at regular intervals.

Beach pavilion de Strandzot is a nice place to stop for a pit stop. You will find a cozy and spacious terrace. Behind the dunes you continue cycling through the forest. You will also pass the Westkapelse Creek, which was created after the dike was destroyed during a bombing raid during the Second World War. In Westkapelle you look out over the North Sea and you can see, among other things, the Low Lighthouse from 1875. What a nice region!
