Description
Cycling through the heart of Maastricht is a great experience. Here you can taste the atmosphere of the capital of Limburg and it becomes clear why Maastricht is known as one of the most pleasant cities in the Netherlands, with nice neighbourhoods such as the Jekerkwartier and Wyck. You cycle up the Sint Pietersberg for beautiful views between the vineyards, over the centre and the Maas valley. Also stop at the viewpoint over the ENCI quarry! On the Jeker you will discover the Lombok mill, just before you cycle back into the nice Maastricht district of Sint Pieter. The mid-beater mill originally dates from around 1500. You cycle back through Amby. Until 1970 this was a village for centuries, after which it became a suburb of Maastricht.
