Tour the Dellen near Berg en Terblijt

Your walking route starts at EuroParcs Resort Poort van Maastricht and takes you through De Dellen. The name comes from sunken roads carved into the slope. You can see them nicely here. Until the twentieth century, this area was only covered with heather. In this beautifully rolling landscape you now walk under the canopy of summer oaks, beeches and maples. It flows into the Meerssenerbroek near the village of Meerssen, on the southern slope of the Geuldal. The plateau and slope forest shows a beautiful transition to moist forests and grasslands, down in the valley. You will also pass the Curfsgroeve, a special place in the slope forests. You walk back via Berg - you soon find out why the village is so called!
