E-bike route: Hoorn and Enkhuizen from Medemblik

Your route starts at EuroParcs IJsselmeer, on the edge of beautiful Medemblik. You drive straight onto the dike here. Get a breath of fresh air while enjoying the view over the IJsselmeer. Enkhuizen is the first stop on your route. You pass three of the old city gates here. In Broekerhaven you will see a monumental overhaul, after which you enter Hoorn. You can admire many characteristic buildings here. You also pass the Museum Van de Twentieth Century, a nice stop. Just outside Hoorn you pass the Windmill Krijgsman: its two predecessors were killed by wind and lightning. Medemblik already received city rights in 1289 from Count Floris V. It grew into a prosperous port city. You can still see this rich history in the many beautiful old buildings.
