From here you walk through the flower bulb fields around Egmond aan den Hoef. The stately surroundings of Egmond Castle in Egmond aan den Hoef enjoy a protected village view. There was a fortress here from 1129 to 1798. In the 1930s the remains were found in the swamp and can still be viewed. The thirteenth-century castle chapel is still standing! Anyway, it's a beautiful spot. You walk back through the North Holland Dune Reserve, which consists of a variety of dune tops, bushes and unprecedented silence.
