Discover the area where your drinking water comes from! This cycle route takes you through the northern part of the area to which Oasen supplies drinking water. You pass two distribution stations that supply the Alphen aan den Rijn and Leiderdorp regions with drinking water. Distribution pumping stations receive drinking water from the purification stations via the pipeline network and then pump the water with a higher pressure towards the customer. You will also pass water tower De Meije. This is the last water tower in the Oasen service area that is still in use for the drinking water supply. Along the way you will pass plenty of public drinking water taps from Oasen where you can fill your water bottle for free with tasty and healthy drinking water. Besides positive for the environment, the sustainable water from the tap is of course also a healthy thirst quencher.
