Round Brunssumerheide, Schutterspark and Geleenbeekdal

Your route starts on the nice terrace of Bie de Veldwachter in Amstenrade. First you drive to the Brunssumerheide. This is the only large heath area in South Limburg. In addition to heathlands, you will also see forests and fens. With a bit of luck you will hear the'cowbells\\\' ringing, a sign that the shepherd and his flock of sheep are nearby. Be sure to get off at the visitor center, because you can enjoy a beautiful view of the natural beauty there. The Schutterspark was set up between 1920 and 1940. The park is partly on the slope of a hill and partly in the valley of the Rode Beek. The northern part of the park consists of a natural forest and heathland. You cycle back through the beautiful Geleenbeek valley near Schinnen.
