Tour of the Twickel and Delden estate

Your route starts at Eetcafe-Cafetaria 't Zumpke for a cup of coffee. The farms belonging to the Twickel Estate are recognizable by their white shutters with black borders. The estate also boasts a castle, the oldest parts of which date back to the mid-sixteenth century. The castle is inhabited by a noble family and is not open to the public. But it is beautiful! In the former fortified town of Delden, you'll discover charming remnants of the past. From Langestraat, for example, take a look at De Kroon (Markt 1), a monumental house dating from 1764. Stop at junction 74. Along the Oelerbeek stream stands the Noordmolen, dating from 1325. Once a double watermill, now only the oil mill remains, used to press oil from rapeseed and linseed.
