Walk through the Mortelen

Just above Oirschot you can take a beautiful walk through the Mortelen. Put on your sturdy shoes and come discover for yourself what makes this nature reserve so unique. Here you walk through a small-scale landscape of moist poplar groves, dry coniferous forests and grasslands and arable lands. This landscape is reminiscent of the Brabant rural countryside before the land consolidation, so before 1950. This similarity concerns the appearance, but also the atmosphere: it is still 'old-fashioned' quiet here. Wonderful for a day of relaxation. De Mortelen is most beautiful in the spring. Then you will see many shades of yellow thanks to the flowering of celandine, marigold and slender primrose. The meadows are then colored lilac by the Pentecost flower. After your walk it is time for a cozy terrace and something tasty at Hoeve 1827.
