Tour of De Heest estate and Zwiepse Mill

Your route starts at Restaurant & Speelerij De Witte Wieven. On your walk you will be taken through an ash landscape with old hedgerows and lovely water streams. The Zwiepse Mill is still in operation. This octagonal windmill was placed in 1851 on the Zwiepse Berg near Barchem. Landgoed De Heest is located at the foot of the Lochemse Berg. This estate is magically situated on the banks of the river De Berkel. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the house on the estate was renovated and a coach house and a drawbridge were added. These renovations make the estate look less old than it actually is. The English garden with height differences and border garden makes the estate a romantic location.
