Your route starts on the outskirts of Maastricht. You drive into the city past the wharf cellars of't Bassin with their restaurants, grand cafés, shops and galleries. In summer it has a Mediterranean feel here with the terraces on the water! You will come across more nice addresses on the Bosschstraat. You cross the Maas via the thirteenth-century Sint-Servaas Bridge, the oldest bridge in the Netherlands. You drive right along the Maas, with a view of the Bonnefanten Museum. Get off in Gronsveld at De Kwizzenjèr before continuing to cycle to beautiful historic Eijsden. On the other side of the Maas you climb the Sint-Pietersberg. Don't forget to look back for beautiful views! A completely different view awaits at the top, at the viewpoint of the spectacular ENCI Quarry.

Eating out in the Eijsden region? On to De Kwizzenjer: an eatery with the quality of a restaurant in Gronsveld. They recently opened an ice cream parlor here: Kwizz-ies. The menu changes four times a year and the dishes are often served with a twist. Just order the risotto, club sandwich or Limburg chicken fillet and taste the difference. Everything is made with really fresh and local ingredients. A nice base for the Meuse valley or the beautiful hilly area around Savelsbos!
