Walk around Borne

Your walk starts with a cup of coffee at Grand Café De Steeg in Borne. Then you walk out of the town via a beautiful route, along the Weideplas. This flows into the meandering Bornsebeek that makes its way through the bocage landscape of Twente. Despite the proximity of the city, you will experience the typical Twente silence here. In the outlying area there are many traditional farms, where sheep and cows graze contentedly on the meadows. Agriculture has been practiced at Park Wildyck for centuries, a beautiful area between Oud Borne and the farmland. New houses are being built here, but embedded in a landscape park while preserving the existing farms and plants. Back in Borne you will see unique knock houses at the Koppelsbrink 32-34. They date from 1786.
