This route introduces you to the rich history and nature of Delft. First you walk through the old city center. While you walk along the canals, you have plenty of time to admire the many monumental buildings. What a nice atmosphere! The East Gate is the only remaining city gate, it originally dates from the fourteenth century. Further on you will pass the iconic Markt. Here you can see, among other things, the famous Delft town hall and the Nieuwe Kerk, which contains the tomb of William of Orange. This takes you through the Delftse Hout and the Bieslandse Bos. You walk back along the Singel to De Brasserij.

The old town hall in Delft is dominated by this heavy brick tower with a stone crowning in Gothic style. The building succeeded an older and smaller tower, parts of which also remain in the current town hall. The restored town hall is a national monument.

The cornerstone of society in ancient and modern times are the churches and more often the small chapels that you can observe everywhere in the smallest hamlet. Small monuments with a rich history.

The most famous windmill type in the Netherlands. Windmills were used not only to produce flour from cereals, but also to reclaim polder areas. Natural energy. The most famous windmills can be found in Kinderdijk, really set up as a polder model. A must see!
