Your route starts at Eetcafe De Holtenploeg. After a cup of coffee, put on your walking shoes. This walk allows you to fully enjoy what makes Drenthe so beautiful: nature and culture. First you walk through the countryside of Sleen. You walk past grasslands and past a small forest plot. Further on, the route takes you along a small stream: the Oosterstroom. It is wonderfully quiet here, ideal for relaxing. In Sleen you can walk past the De Hoop flour mill from 1914. Be sure to take a walk around the Brink to experience the historic atmosphere. You will see the impressive monumental town hall from 1938. The church dates from the fifteenth century. In the hamlet of Diphoorn you can take a look at Dorpstuin Diphoorn, at Diphoorn 21.

This mill has stood in Amersfoort for a long time, but in 1915 the mill was demolished there and moved to Sleen. The mill was placed on the site of a mill that burned down in 1914.
